infoclio.ch

The specialist portal for historians in Switzerland

This project was started on the initiative of the Swiss Historical Society (SGG) and the Swiss Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences (SAGW). Its aim is to establish a digital infrastructure for Swiss historians, designed to bring together the relevant sponsors and stakeholders, raise the profile of Swiss historical study in a digital context and simplify access for researchers to digital, international projects.

infoclio.ch

  • Coordinates the relevant sponsors and stakeholders and represents their common concerns and interests in the field of historical study
  • Guarantees that the scientific community is kept well informed
  • Is responsible for providing a network of existing academic resources, ensuring that the outcomes and products of Swiss historical research are present in international databases and giving researchers access to international databases
  • Seeks out contact with other national institutions and international projects aiming to set up a European digital infrastructure for history and the humanities. Worth a special mention here is DARIAH (Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities)
  • Reflects the potential benefits and problems of digital media for historians
  • As part of its commitment to scientific study, formulates pioneering solutions and strategies designed to strengthen the digital infrastructure for historians

"Infoclio.ch" is associated with "e-lib.ch" in that it is an SAGW research undertaking.
