Swiss journals online

In the "retro.seals.ch" project, scientific journals from Switzerland are being retro-digitised and made available online worldwide on the "retro.seals.ch" platform.
"Retro.seals.ch" covers a very wide range of specialist fields. There are currently over 132 journals from all kinds of subject areas available for users; architects are just as well catered for as historians and mathematicians.

All the journals are digitised as fully as possible. The oldest journals date from the first half of the 19th century, while the most recent volumes came out just a few months ago.

The platform offers the digitised journals in high picture quality and various search options:

• Full image display including zoom function
• Full text search of all content
• Browsing by journal title, author or year of publication
• Targeted search within collections or journals
• Articles and single pages are available to download as PDFs

"Retro.seals.ch" is being continuously expanded, in cooperation with publishers and other partners, to make it a national journals portal. In 2011, over two million digitised pages will be available online.
